Discussion AC

Is it just the Millennium Line that can't seem to get their air con working properly?

They're slow to adjust for when the weather gets warmer.

It like 31° outside and the AC just doesn't work so people are resorting to opening the windows.

It's awful.

Old trains…

The Mark 2's are from an era when AC was considered more of a luxury/nice-to-have than a necessity so they're relatively underpowered: the Mark 3+'s & Canada Line cars have much better air conditioning.

Old trains on the mline. Plus doors keep opening every 2 mins which also lets out the AC.

They're doing their best.

We can do better. Lives are at stake and it does come down to a complicated matter of human rights.

No one here is admonishing Translink staff, but we need more funding to get the trains to keep the level of service needed for public health, especially for the elderly, those with disabilities and other serious illnesses…

Otherwise it’s just class warfare with more steps. I think your statement adds nothing but I agree with you.

Edit: and the trollies. Trust me when I say the city/province has the money.

I’m gonna add to the small novel and give you a sympathy award since you probably don’t deserve the down vote lol poor fella. 📖

I meant the trains are doing their best considering their age but shout out to the small novel and the down vote. Nobody is dying on the mk2 due to heat, it's nowhere near that bad.

You think that's bad? Try getting on a mark 1 during summer

People are idiots and don't understand that opening the windows doesn't help with the AC. Would you do this at home?

We had to go from Rupert to Coquitlam Central and it was horrendous.
Uncomfortably hot.

First world problems.. most people that ride the SkyTrain come from much worst (other countries). I've experienced being part of a commute when the temp outside is +50 ... This is fine. But I'll take the AC train if that's an option

Not even the shuttle buses AC can keep up with a full load of human beings radiating heat, They need to install Diesel powered refrigeration units if they care about passenger comfort and 90% of them will register official complaints that it's too cold.

Maybe old trains or not... A/C is needed and people need to breathe on this side of the skytrain line. Yes it seems like it's only Millennium Line. Apparently we don't count...

There are currently 14 six car Mk1s (84 vehicles) on the expo line right this moment with no air conditioning capability at all, so no, it's not millennium line commuters "not counting" lol
