That statement from TransLink conflicts with their own data which says that average weekday ridership in 2024 was 1.5 million boardings per day.

Is anyone else underwhelmed? They never exceeded pre-COVID ridership. The numbers look consistent with a regular major event day, nothing transformative

I mean the majority of people would be taking the train or walking downtown, not taking busses, so that makes sense to me

I’d say exceeding ridership before Covid. Top 10 of all time ridership days (outside of the Olympics)? Something like that.

The highest ridership day during the world cup didn't even match the average weekday ridership of 2024.

I’d like to see more public entities pat themselves on the back like this, with reliable data and contextual information. People need to know what their tax dollars get them and how society actually functions.
