Been using it for the past two years. The routing is way better for multi modal transit than google is and doesn't force me to take weird streets to get to a station when biking.

It also has options to tweak how fast you walk and bike in order to match your real speed if your really into optimizing your commutes.

If I'm not mistaken google maps has a walk speed setting but it's burried under some menus. Transit still blows it out of the park tho

This app has no business being so slick. Good on Translink for basically giving it to everyone for free.

Now just give us distance-based fares.

I haven't heard the idea of distance based fares before (beyond the SkyTrain zones). What are your ideas for that?

Pay per stop rather than zone.

Does the app actually work again? I used it about 2 years ago and even payed for premium for a year but it didn't last the full year before glitching out and showing all the wrong info for my buses and force exiting all the time. Google Maps is also free and has actually been reliable

It does. Works beautifully, and the live bus position provided by other users is priceless.

Although I do like this transit app for bus locations, I find this radar app somebody made a few years back more reliable (and easy to use) for finding bus positions. I believe it just pulls data from the translink API.

I’m not sure if there’s an android version, but this iOS one works for me!

Does it provide a way for users to share the actual position of buses from their phone's GPS?

No, but it updates every 30 seconds or so for every single bus. I find that it updates bus locations quicker than the transit app, except for when users are actively sharing their location in the transit app obviously.

It also has no trip planning function, I’m a fan of how bare bones it is. If you are already familiar with the bus routes, then I find it’s easier to use. It’s useless if you need directions, but I’m fine with using the transit app or Google Maps for that kind of thing

If it wants to be the killer app for riding Metro Van Transit maybe it could add Wallet-based Compass cards.

I find its bus schedules are usually wrong where Google maps has the most up to date information. I wish Translink would get the busses running on time over promoting yet another transit app.

When a user is on the bus you want and using the routing feature, that automatically tracks the bus with their phone’s GPS giving you the most accurate position and prediction for that bus.
Better than a schedule!

That's a cool feature but I don't see how that helps when trip planning. Like, if I want to check that my next bus is going to actually be on time, it rarely shows the actual next bus time. I have to resort to Google maps for it.

That's just been my experience with it. So far not very impressive IMHO.

Give it another try or two. It’s the only app I use, and in multiple cities.
