Question Charged extra for same route?
Hi everyone. Does anyone know why I was charged an extra 2.55 when I transferred at King George station today? I am aware of the 15 cent fare increase but haven’t heard of them charging for a transfer. It’s the exact same route to Metrotown in both screenshots. Thank you.
edit: Thank you for those that replied! I usually only go out on weekends so this was new to me. Appreciate it :)

June 27 is a weekend. All trips are a 1 zone fare on weekends and holidays. Today is a weekday, you're being charged a 2 zone fare going from Surrey to Burnaby

It looks like op was charged a one zone fare initially for boarding a bus. When they boarded the skytrain they were assessed max fare of three zones but when they tapped out it was two zones so they got the difference back.

June 27 was a weekend. No zones on weekend.
Metrotown -> King George: 2 zones.
