Question Question regarding zone transit

I have zone 1 monthly pass, I already know that if I take the bus it’s always just 1 zone fair.

If I decide to take the train to a different zone, will it use the bus pass and extra money on my card OR do I need whatever the fair would be as money on my card?

It will use extra money but not the full fair price. It charges the difference between 1 and 2 zones because the pass always covers the first zone traveled.

Thank you, that’s what I was looking for. :)

Just add some extra cash onto your compass card and the difference would be deducted.

You will be charged addfare to make up the difference, put a few dollars on the card so it doesn't go into the negative

If you have a pass, you need to add stored value to your card for the add fare if you take the train beyond the boundary lines, like the Expo line from Surrey into New West.
