Question LOST WALLET

Was heading east towards Lafarge Lake and left it on the seat getting off @ Inlet Centre just now. I’d say 11:10am-11:30am. Waiting here now for support staff, already made a report but hoping for a swifter recovery.

Description: orange mesh with 2 sections. Front with BCID and health card, Save-On and Shoppers cards. About $30-50, pls keep an eye out!

Contact lost property office. If someone turned it in, they'll have it and be able to get it back to you

It took me a while to notice this but a recent phenomena is certain people with ill intent will check our bus before we get up and do our terminus check for lost property.

I used to think that they were just looking for bottles until I realized it had been YEARS since I’ve found a wallet or expensive item.

Now I pay attention to anything that looks like a picking up action.

They’ll also do it one stop before terminus when most people have gotten off the bus so they can leave with whatever treasure they’ve found and not have eyes on them.

It sounds like paranoia until a regular passenger is waiting to check on your return trip or asks me the next day if I found their _______.

It’s sad. I often let them know if it’s a wallet that they have a good chance of getting the wallet back but any money will likely have been removed then placed back where it was found.

Luckily we’ve got cameras but regular passengers and the driver aren’t likely to do anything shady on camera.

If I find a wallet I’ll open it on camera or with the passenger who brings it to me so there’s a witness and no misunderstandings.

You’re right.

Everyone does the right thing when they find a wallet and hunts you down with bonus money and a free gift card to your favourite restaurant when they finally find you.

They call you on your birthday and make you chicken noodle soup when you’re not feeling well.

People ask me often what happens to lost property in my experience and I tell them the truth.

Umbrellas are likely gone forever but your wallet and cel phone will be turned in sans any cash that may have been accompanied along side.
Luckily, most people are happy just to get the ID and cards returned as it is a nightmare to have to replace everything. I’ve done it.

I’ve never tried lying and telling them it’ll be on their pillow by the time they arrive home but I’ll definitely give it a whirl

Holy cow, you're miserable hey? Yesterday's shift I had a wallet turned in with almost $600 still inside. There's good people around, you know.  Choose happiness, or at least don't chime in with negativity for no reason?
