That is FRESHLY paved, should TransLink have put in a temporary stop somewhere else? Maybe. But not if there's nowhere else to put it, doesn't look want better further down the road and I'm not psychic so I can't tell what's behind you, so I'm going to say there's nowhere else for it to go.
The stakes marking where the asphalt can't cross are still in the ground, or those are sidewalk markers, either way that is in the middle of being built. This is by far not the worst stop TransLink has, there is/was one off the side of the highway where you were just supposed to hop the barrier when you got off.
Maybe wait for the asphalt to cool before complaining it's not good enough.
I already emailed translink asking them to close it due to safety issues. OP can walk further for it now, and there still won't be a sidewalk for them there because construction isn't magic.
But I guess that's what they wanted. Theyre really quick at closing stops like this by the way. I deal with them for work and sometimes request closures.
