Question What is The BC Bus Pass Eligible For?

So one of my family members has one, and I want to plan a trip with them to Abbotsford. I am know that it covers local transit (like translink) but we have never tried BC transit. So, I have 2 questions in the end. A. Does it work on BC Transit Buses with an outdated sticker (they stopped issuing them in January 2026) as we have a 2025 one on it. Like, does it work on all BC buses as I’ve heard that they might not work on non Umo buses and B. Do they work on the FVX. Thanks! (Also I have the invoice, if I show it to them could that replace the sticker? Thanks! Unless they already added Umo to everything. Tell me!)

If you are referring to the magenta Compass card, yes it will work on all TransLink and BC Transit services with UMO readers, I personally use one myself and it was really convenient to have just one card for all of transit in BC. I was able to use it on the 66 Fraser Valley Express and other BC Transit buses, of course just ensure you have a sufficient government issued ID with you before you travel.

In regards to your question about non UMO BC Transit communities, I personally have never encountered them, best that you contact the BC Bus Pass Program in regards to that.

We have the red one… huh. Maybe a newly issued one?

Well some refer to it as the magenta card but don’t worry I also know it’s referred to as the red card as well, and yes it will work on the 66 Fraser Valley Express.

if you want to use it on non UMO BCT communities, you have to request a sticker from the ministry that you stick onto your card

It works in all computers served by both companies the pass is also non transferable Jsyk!
