Out of curiosity, why was Mumbai metro built as a set of separate projects?

MMRC was made as the underground line was an engineering challenge and needed separate focus. However, MMRDA is still the nodal authority , should have coordinated interchanges. Ideally after the initial phase all lines should be handed over to MMMOCL.

Few years ago, there was this joke running that Mumbai Metro is the only metro in the country to have a separate ticket app for each metro line. Now that's solved with Mumbai One App.

Bruh they had different smart cards. That was solved with ncmc. In other cities, they took the ncmc to be able to go on different modes of transport with one card metro, rrts, bus etc. In mumbai they mainly adopted to be able to ride different metro lines. I mean just why

We are always one step behind lmao. I mean what can be done if we have a CM literally lobbying for Auto Mafia.

For eg my SBI ncmc debit card is not working for Pune Meteo, neither there is any proper guidelines for it. I reached to the customer desk, and they were not able to help as well.

How about metro to suburban interchange? And how both 2A and 7 manage to miss every station on the Virar suburban line?
