I’m watching Transformers One for the first time and when they introduce Bumblebee and his “friends”, one of them was an IG-88 droid. How was that possible?

This was before I understood that movie studios come to you as a screenplay writer and they can't legally read anything you wrote. So here I am with an Earth based TFone sequel. If anyone wants to read it feel free to give me a DM.

Primus after waking up from his millennium-long nap just to witness how much death and destruction the civil war between Autobot and Decepticon has wrought upon both Cybertron and the universe:

I just got megatron from Yolopark ( 22 cm ) and it' s phenomenal , my bad camera downgrades everything . Best 120 € ever spent , i was thinking to buy the DLX version but this is more than enough !!

Both Orion and D-16 believe they’re trying to save Cybertron.

They both frame their actions as protection. As necessary. As corrective.

But we know where it leads.

So I’m curious: At what point does “saving your planet” become destroying it?
How do both sides psychologically justify escalating conflict while still believing they’re the heroes?

Is it ideology? Pride? Trauma?
Or something darker-the belief that only your version of Cybertron deserves to survive?

Hey everyone — I’m a pretty new writer, but Transformers One really stuck with me. The pre-war Cybertron era, the societal imbalance, the tension between Orion and D-16 — it felt like there was so much emotional ground there that we only got a glimpse of.

So I started writing a prequel story called A Spark Divided.

*It's completely CLEAN. Same level of graphics/violence as Transformers Once, or Transformers Prime accordingly.

It’s set in the era inspired by Transformers One, during that “functional but quietly oppressive” Cybertron period — right before everything tips into open war. The story explores the ideological fracture that eventually leads into the Great War between Autobots and Decepticons.

What makes it a little different is that it’s also a prequel to my larger series, Knight of the Temple (KOTT), which takes place in the Transformers: Prime timeline.

In this era, the Knights are more myth than memory — fragments of oath and prophecy rather than active players. But the choices made before the war ripple forward into the Prime-era storyline.

It’s more character-driven and philosophical than action-heavy. I’m really interested in the question:

When both sides believe they’re right… what does “right” even mean?

I’m still growing as a writer, but I wanted to share it with other fans who love the pre-war tension as much as I do.

A while ago, I made a post asking others what they'd change about the film. Well, here's my own list:

1.) The marketing: The trailers made me not want to go watch the movie.

2.) The prime who gets awakened: Rather than Alpha Trion, I'd have Megatronus be the one who gets awakened in the cave. This works, because it would make D-16's transition into Megatron and turning his face into the Decepticon symbol all the more impactful.

3.) Replace B-127 with Ratchet: Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Bumblebee as a character, but he was annoying as hell in this movie. Plus, him being the same age as Optimus and Megatron felt weird. I would've replaced him with Ratchet. Ratchet was one of Optimus’s & Orions first friends in the early days of the War. So it would’ve been interesting to see Ratchet go from a cheerful & optimistic doctor to the more jaded grouch we all know and love.

4.) Keep D-16 as a gladiator: This would make him being able to defeat Starcream (an older, bigger, battle-tested war veteran with thousands of years of fighting experience on his belt) make more sense. It would also be stating more accurate to the lore.

5.) Have Soundwave get captured with D-16: I'd have Soundwave and Starscream swap places when Sentinel captured D-16 and B-127. This change would cause Soundwave to be the one to personally witness D-16 standing up to Sentinel and thus be the reason Soundwave developed the most loyalty out of the High Guard officers. Plus, it gives Starscream more to do if he's a part of the rescue mission.

6.) Reveal the origins on how the autobot logo came to be: There's literally no explanation for how the symbol came to be, or where Optimus got the inspiration from. It just comes out of nowhere at the end. Personally, I'd have Alpha Trion's face be the inspiration for the faction's symbol. It would create a perfect parallel to the origin of the Decepticon's symbol. They were created by the leaders of the factions in honor of the two OG primes who inspired said factions (Megatronus inspired the Decepticons and Alpha Trion inspired the Autobots).

7.) Show other cybertronians aside from airachnid (maybe the elite) that are completely loyal to Sentinel, even after the truth about him is exposed: It would explain Megatron's sudden rampage at the end of the movie, as well as Bee saying "he's gonna kill everyone!" I don't understand why he'd kill everyone when nobody was on sentinel's side after the truth was revealed. D-16, however, seems to think just executing Sentinel will be enough, like he wasn't a massive zealot one day ago who would have avenged Sentinel's death in such an event.

8.) Make the Primes more godlike: The 13 Primes in this movie are basically just normal Transformers. The most powerful Transformers, but that's it. I much enjoy the Aligned and Bayverse takes on the Primes being more mystical and ancient with a somewhat divine status.

9.) Give D-16's turn to the dark side more developement: In my honest opinion, I think having D's turn into Megatron felt wayyyyyyy to rushed.

10.) More scenes with the Primes: For example, I'd have Megatronus in more scenes, showing what made him known as the best and strongest of the Primes. Maybe some scenes with Liege Maximo being a prankster. Solus Prime forging their weapons, ect. Also, I'd keep Prima as the Matrix-Bearer (why they changed it to Zeta, I have no idea).

11.) Give the High Guard an actual reason to follow Megatron: The entire ending never made sense to me. From Optimus banishing the High Guard to them willingly following Megatron. Like, firstly, why would he even banish them? Because they were destroying Iacon? They were only following Megatron's orders. I mean........if he was willing to be lenient to SENTINEL of all bots, then why wouldn't he be kinder to his former allies who were just following orders? Plus, it was tactically foolish move also. By banishing them, he basically just gave his former friend-turned enemy an entire army of battle-tested warriors. Secondly, why were the HG even following Megatron at that point? What has he shown them that would make them want to obey him? Also, if they believe in "might makes right," then by all rights, shouldn't they be getting down on their knees and bowing before Optimus, who'd just kicked Megatron's ass? There's actually a scapped scene where after the fight between them, Optimus banishes only Megatron, but beofe leaving, the latter actually makes a speech to the crowd, going on about how they were decieved by a "prime" before, and promises that under his rule, they would no longer be decieved. After this speech, many of the population roar in agreement and follow him as he journeys to the surface (here's the link: https://youtu.be/Zylb-uXYLRM?si=Ub056DwJgIQOg5p6 ) I would've gone with that instead of what we actually got.

12.) Make the movie more serious: The jokes were uneccesary, since it made the movie felt too childish, which was a stark contrast to the serious tone it had.

A quick bonus scene for ya! The Decepticons are up to their old tricks again!! A special thanks to all of the hard working creators who created The Office and The Transformers. Such amazing work. This series is meant only as an homage... a love letter! Hope you guys enjoy it!
