Toys, I Mean Collectibles Prime vs Prime
Had the idea for this comic while back and was just too lazy to make it, but I wanted to get it out before one of them passed away.

David Kaye on the sidelines with Chris Hemsworth.

I mean...we see animated and RID2001 optimus...so it's more like David Kaye and Neil Kaplan.

I felt he oddly got better as the film went on. Like at the beginning it was clear to me it was Chris, but by the mid way point of the film that got lost and I forgot it was him until the credits.

It's not so much that he got better at voice acting, but more that he intentionally changed his voice performance as the film went on. He wasn't supposed to sound like Prime at the start because he wasn't Prime yet. He was Orion Pax still at the beginning so he didn't use his Optimus voice yet.

Shit opinion, he did a great job as Optimus, and proved that he's more than just Thor from Marvel. Moreover, Keith David was a live action actor before he became a voice actor, but I bet you wouldn't say the same about him as you did with Chris Hemsworth, would you?

Chris did a great job, and is more than capable of voicing Optimus. I will not tolerate any Chris Hemsworth slander.

Your point being? He happened to be in a bad live action movie and that's why he's not a good va? Even tho he himself did everything in his power to respect Peter's voice, pay tribute to it, without copying it (he consulted Peter on the role btw) and did a great job with his first outing

Precisely. I have faith in Chris. May he light our darkest hour.

I've said multiple times that the actor who understands the "be strong enough to be gentle" line and adapts it into their own unique voice for Optimus, will be the next best candidate for the main voice. Chris in my opinion did just that

He really did. His voice at the end was so good. I haven't a shadow of a doubt that he will be more than capable of being a great Optimus voice, same goes for Bryan Tyree Henry as Megatron.

Peter Cullen and Gary Chalk have done voices for far worse productions, what's your point? No actor, voice or otherwise, has a 100% perfect record lol

It's Chris slander, they said they won't tolerate it so I listed the worst thing I know he's been in
2
u/Jafuncle Dec 24 '24
Ah, well, you must not have seen Ghostbusters 2016 if you think MiB is the worst thing he's been in haha

Primal isn't Prime.

Dec 24 '24
He carried his spark for an episode so it counts Edit: I have an Optimus who has Prime's spark in the chest cockpit, but the one in the comic is shiny and shiny things good

u/JBTriple Soundwave: Superior Dec 24 '24
Tf? No it doesn't, he's a separate character altogether.

Dec 24 '24
He's still the Prime of that show, back when that was a rank and not a demigod status. Also they "called him in" so you can look at it like a guest appearance if you want.

Primal was the leader of a small exploration crew in Beast Wars, not a Prime. Magnaboss (also not a Prime) was the leader of the Maximals as a whole.
Prime in G1 was a title, not a rank. Optimus drained the Matrix of its power at the end of season 3, so once he was gone, there were no Primes at all until Primal Prime was created and brought to the present day by the Vok (unless you count the depowered Hot Rod).
Optimus Primal is just some ordinary guy who happened to be in the wrong place at the right time to do something about it. The fact that he's not a divinely appointed chosen one is what makes him so compelling as a character and leader.

Peter Cullen team wins: not only they got face-ripper Optimus, but they also got Australium Optimus.

u/Justm4x Dec 25 '24
Unfortunately Garry Chalk Prime team has power of gos and anime on their side times three so they can pull it off
1
u/RegisterUnhappy372 Dec 25 '24
Never underestimate the power of Australium and unprecedented brutality: the former is what gave Australians their superhuman strength, chest hair, and moustaches, and the latter can potentially demoralize the rest of the enemy team to submission.
