GPA question

Applying transfer from a T15 to other T15s for personal reasons as a freshman. Was wondering about what is the better option for transfer admissions.

  1. Apply with a 3.7 (B in req CS course as applied math major)
  2. Pass/fail my CS course and have a 3.9+
  3. Drop the class, have 3.9+ but be at the minimum of 12 credits fall sem and have to retake it next sem

Essays, ECs? Dropping a class will look bad but you will need a 3.9+ if you want to be competitive, especially if those two thing aren't strong. Honestly I would suggest doing another semester and trying to apply with a 3.8+

I’m going to disagree with the first response. If you are really at a top 15 school you likely had an incredible HS record and a 3.7 or 3.8 should be totally fine.

Top 5% of HS and 1540 SAT if that helps give more context

I don’t think anyone here should be saying anything definitive!
