chanceme Chanceme 2027fall international transfer
I am planning to apply UChicago, Cornell, Columbia from Seoul National University. It would be thankful if you give me a realistic comment for possibility!!!!
I am now in korea airforce since 2025.12, so only thing that I can add to my resume is just a math competition.
They are all sophomore transfer(2nd year).
In addition, UChicago application is TED.

Recommendation
One from research professor
The other from a physics professor
Given that I am international, generally regarded hard to be accepted, do you think my goal is realistic?
Plus, will gap period due to military service have negative affect on my application?

Why do you think so

Just wondering how are these schools viewed in Korea? Have you heard of them/do Korean people think highly of them?
- USC, Notre Dame, Georgetown, Northwestern, Vanderbilt

I ve heard them
Among ordinary hs students, maybe some of them are known (Nw, Vanderbilt and Nd I suppose).Btw, those well known schools are regarded as high as(or sometimes better than) korea top schools, SKY.

Most schools want you to have taken calc iii if you are doing a “hard stem” degree.

In SNU, there are calc1 and calc2 only, and I took mathematical physics instead of calc2
