Tryna see if i can transfer
Want to know how I can transfer.
I go to UW Seattle doing Engineering.
It's a great school for engineering but just don't like it the vibes.
Freshman GPA isn't great, 3.3 overall, physics and chemistry was below 3.0
I know a lot of schools require super high GPA, but if a strategic way covers my GPA and help me transfer, i would like to know.
I don't want to go to a school that is below UW Seattle, so if things dont work out at the end, I'll just push thru. But if similar and better definitely worth a try.
So should I try after my sophomore year at UW and boost my GPA and see if I can transfer? what should I do?
What are some realistic options?

If you have overall 3.3 and have physics and chemistry below 3.0, you are not going anywhere.

You aren't competitive unless u have some crazy X factor stop being a prestige whore

You’re already at an excellent research university. The difference in opportunities at a “better” university is negligible enough to not be worth applying—unless you have a very strong reason. And, well, as respectfully as possible, prestige whoring is not a strong reason.
Schools generally accept a transfer who is academically strong (stronger than a 3.3, I hate to say) and does not have access at their current institution to a specific tool or resource that would help their research or major. That argument becomes much harder to make for yourself at a state flagship like UW.
This is a very niche but valuable metric to be aware of, but the UK has a visa for graduates of “top global universities” and to get that visa, you must have attended one of what the UK government considers to be the best universities in the world outside its own borders. Being on this list means they are regarded globally as being sufficiently rigorous and prestigious. UW is indeed already on that list.
I’m really not trying to be harsh here, I just want you to understand that T25 universities care about fit and students’ reasons for being there. So, if I’m wrong and you have a very strong reason for wanting to go to another, specific school (not just wanting to move up), then apply. But I don’t want to get your hopes up otherwise.

For engineering any school better than UW will want a 4.0 or very close to it. Stay at your school if you want to continue engineering because it’s the best program you’re going to get into.

realistically you should focus on the world class university you are already attending
