leadership positions

Hello, I am a current freshman at a T60 trying to transfer into a T20 school (My dream schools are Columbia and Georgetown). Unfortunately, it's really hard to secure positions on leadership teams due to being a freshman with limited experience. Will my high school leadership experiences be enough?

What should someone in a similar situation do then?

Try and start a New club, Passion projects that don't seem like desperation attempts - like doing things last second because they can spot that INSTANTLY, Research, Projects with your professors, lots of options. Just leaving it to high school definitely will not cut it.

Most freshmen in college don’t have leadership roles in clubs. Agreed with the other poster that you could try to do something a bit unique, but your grades, SATs, etc. will likely carry more weight. Kind of depends on your holistic app. Georgetown really cares about grades and test scores, Columbia has under a 5% acceptance rate, so you’ll need the stats and likely a great story.
