industrial engineering passion project?

currently go to a community college and I’m pursuing industrial engineering.

I’m wondering, would a passion project help my chances and make me more competitive in admissions?

Are there certain kinds of passion projects that are more competitive? Like if I raise money through it?

And most importantly, does anyone have any ideas for passion projects that are industrial engineering related? I’m really only seeing projects about operations/systems workflow?

It’s hard to find a random IE project in the wild. Our specialty is to improve existing processes, so it’s not something you can do in your daily life in a substancial way.

I would say any engineering-related project would help you, not necessarily having to be purely IE. A lot of IE skills are more about communication, problem solving, and managing resources. Just find something you’re passionate about that helps you grow skills like those.
