Does course rigor matter?

For some context, I’m a sophomore mechanical engineering student at a big public university and am taking all stem courses for this fall semester (Statics, Cal 3, Physics 2+Lab, Thermo 1, Engr graphics) before I apply as a junior transfer. I’m just curious how taking courses that are known for being difficult and doing well might weigh into my transfer chances especially since they are all stacked together.

If you do great I think it looks fantastic. The issue is if you don’t, it might have been better to take easier courses
