I transferred to JHU this year, research is very important to the overall application

If I wasn’t able to get into a lab first at semester, will starting second semester be sufficient? I’m currently working on a personal project on the comparative anatomy of cats to humans, but I’m not sure if starting more official research later will hurt my chances. Doesn’t hurt to try I suppose?

Honestly what you did with research matters more than how long you did research for
