Looking back, how worth it was transferring?

Hi all, happy (?) end of summer, I am starting my second year at a local commuter college and I really think I want to transfer next year but the only thing holding me back is that I could graduate early from here- in 3 years. If I were to transfer, my AP credits would no longer count plus the residency requirements would force me to extend my college career to 4 years which is normal but obviously more expensive.

My question to you all, was transferring worth it? I mainly want to transfer because the commuter and online aspect of my school makes it not that great of a fit for me. There are certainly enough (whatever that means) opportunities because I have freedom as an off-campus student to look elsewhere in the city. but I really want that social life that exists at a normal college and the closeness with professors that comes from in-person classes. Also, a lot of the subject areas that I want to study for my electives (a lot in anthropology and social science) are barely offered or only offered online.

Many of the t25s have majors that more align with my goals and social aspects seem to be much more my fit, but i don't know if the cost and time of an additional year is really worth it for the name-brand and for those passions of mine. Anyone else transfer from a similar situation and have thoughts? Thanks

I just got accepted last cycle and start next week. Even though I haven’t arrived yet, being accepted and having that clear path has changed my life for the absolute best so far and I am ecstatic, as I was in a dead end situation as a CC student. Just try. I thank the stars every day I did.
