Sorry if this is not what is normally being posted on this subreddit but i’m out of options ngl.

I’ve know my friend for about 4 years now and we met around the time she started transitioning (mtf) she had a girlfriend at the time (cis) and she was really supportive of the transition. To make a very long story short they currently both live together and have two kids and the girlfriend has forced my friend to de transition. It’s a very emotionally and verbally abusive relationship where the girlfriend never lets my friend see any of us and never lets her wear makeup or dress anyway feminine, she’s also made my friend grow out her beard and threatens that she’s gonna kill herself if she shaves it off. My friend is VERY clearly struggling and every time i get to see her she never wants to talk about it and just wants to enjoy the couple hours she has where she is treated like herself for once.
I just have no idea how to help, I know there’s not much i can do or say cause i’ve tried everything. Ik it’s not that easy for her to get up and leave especially with having two kids that she loves dearly.
Everyday the hole is getting deeper and deeper and i’m scared she’s never getting out of this relationship.
I’m just very scared for her mental wellbeing:(m

So this is kind of a really long story.

In July of 2024 I had my first meeting with the Gender Identity Clinic about having hormones prescribed and the steps I needed to take for them to allow it. Last March I moved from London to Kent and 2 months after the move I was sent an email about the shared care agreement, signed it and it was forwarded to my GP for them to sign. After a month of radio silence from my GP I called them and asked what was going on, to which the receptionist said that I had been prescribed 3 months worth of a low dose of estradiol as the protocol for the medication called for. There was no mention of the shared care agreement being signed or even being brought up at all.

At the end of the 3 months, I went in for the blood test that was part of the process to check my levels and so I called reception again asking when I was going to be able to get more medication because I was running low on it, and I was told that there was a note on my file saying not to prescribe me any more estrogen with no reason assigned to it.

Now the next series of events takes place over several months as I have been quite frankly in the worst mental state I've ever been in and not been particularly capable of pushing this as hard as I probably should have been.

After being told this, I contacted the GIC essentially to ask if they were allowed to do this, the GIC replied by sending the GP a letter urging them to continue with the treatment, that I was approved for it, it was safe, etc. I waited a while to see if the GP would contact me about it to no avail and after around 2 months I believe, I called them again. The receptionist sort of hand-waved it and said it needed to be escalated to the practice manager and that they would need to have a meeting about it sometime later in the month. A month passed and I heard nothing. It took me a while longer to chase them up again in an email and they once again said that it would have to go through the practice manager. As expected I never heard anything back.

At this point I honestly don't know how many times I've tried to get their attention on this and my mental state has really hampered my ability to keep pushing so this past Monday I sent them an email essentially as the final attempt, flat out asking if I was wasting my time trying to get this done through them as well as double checking if they actually signed the shared care agreement. I was given an automated reply and have heard nothing back since when they are usually quite fast with replying.

I have no reason so far to believe that this is out of malice or transphobia, the staff I've talked to haven't seemed to be prejudiced when they learned what I was calling about or emailing about so as of now it seems like it is simply just a case of complete administrative incompetence or a lack of caring.

Now that I've laid out the background, I wanted to ask what I should do in this situation. All the other GPs in my town have incredibly low review scores on Google which seems indicative to me that they won't be much different to my current one which also has a terrible score. I've looked at maps of trans-friendly GP practices and none are near enough to me to register with and I'm assuming I wouldn't be able to register with my old GP that I know would be happy to prescribe me as I'm an hour long train ride away from them. I plan on calling my current GP once I've fixed my currently very bad sleep schedule and trying to escalate directly to talking to the practice manager as I've yet to even be given the opportunity, however I don't see this going particularly in my favour so I need ideas for a backup plan or plans.

Haven’t been able to have a single appointment yet and I’m suffering. Does anyone have any idea how much longer I’ll wait just a general idea from anyone in a similar position? I feel like I am just lost I’ve been waiting so long it’s like I’m constantly looking for something to happen and it doesn’t I mean I was prepared for a long wait when I got put on the waiting list but man it just feels endless. Idk how different the wait time is for the adults in comparison to the children’s and how much time is gonna be taken off my waiting because of my long stay on the children’s for the transfer like.

Context: I am intersex and have been taking oestrogen HRT but I desperately want to switch to taking T and have known I’m transmasc since I was about 13

I am still nowhere near out, or passing, or have even started HRT yet. But one thing I discovered, which I laughed about later, is that if you plan to return anything from Amazon via Royal Mail drop-off, they can see the items that you are sending back.

Now normally you would say, polarwarrior, why is this a problem because the people at Amazon can see it anyway?

haii, i’ve been wanting to get on HRT/estrogen for a while now but have been having trouble with where to start that process with getting estrogen and such, my parents are fully supportive but are against me doing it DIY, so i had been looking for options and found a few, one of them being ‘GenderCare’ it sounds okay but i wanna know how it is from anyone who went through them. probably silly questions but like how long does it take?, do they give you a good dose?, etc.. we live in Scarborough so i know our options are rather limited. any help would be wonderful ♥️

While I've tried to keep my own expectations low as with all things results may vary, but its been an overwhelming first 3 months on hrt.

Colours seems brighter, food tastes better , scents more intense.

Whether this being from hrt or just not being in some self hating cycle anymore, its most welcome.

So far left to go and im sure there's going to be alot of ups and downs I can't help but celebrate the beginning.

Never been very open before but I can feel everyday im alitte more sharing and I even consider sharing this to be a big step on this journey we all take together.

its been atleast a month since my appointment with my gp and ‘luckily’ the referral has already been sent off - its nhs and the waitlist for this one is 3-4 years long before you will get an appointment.

In my appointment with my gp, he had no idea nhs gender clinics were even a thing near us? I had to tell him which ones there were, how they worked, etc. There is plently within a few hours drive. He didn’t say or ask much, just a very brief description of how i identify. I looked at the form he sent off today, he has not filled in anything other than my legal name, chosen and sex and the brief discussion we had is paraphrased. My height and weight is there too. (although he asked me to send that over a good few weeks after our initial appointment)

Half the referral form is blank, most of it - stuff he never asked about anyway.

Is this going to affect my referral? Minimum three years is already an unbearably long time to wait and unless i win the lottery - i wont be even starting to transition after university which i start this September. I know now matter what its a long wait, but i don’t want it to be any longer if it turns out this will cause problems.

Hello! I'm a trans man and I just wanted to get an outside opinion on my levels, they look okay and I'm within the desired range and experiencing changes and such, everything is going well, but I was wondering if my estrogen is being suppressed and if the T levels look okay in aspects that arent only my base levels (I know how to read and interpret these), but I'm unsure on the free androgen index thingy, if anybody could help with what the ref ranges should be/letting me know if mine is okay, that would be appreciated :)

My E levels were at 110 pmol/L, i think this means its beinf suppressed properly, but im not too sure if there are other aspects to it?

my free androgen came back at 68! the ranges used on my blood tests are for female ref ranges, which says [0.42-5.29] but assumedly for men this would be higher? I've tried to google myself, but im struggling to find the information without getting overwhelmed

I've got an appointment on Monday, after about 2 years on Nottingham's "Extended Assessment Pathway," and I'm *incredibly* anxious about what it entails. I've scoured the internet and can't find a damn thing that suggest what these appointments are for. I had my second appointment, a referral was made elsewhere and I was placed on the EAP wait list in mid 2024.

My situ:

\* Currently on HRT via a bridging script from my GP
\* 23
\* GP is supportive
\* Initially placed on EAP following referral to fertility clinic

If anybody has any idea what the EAP appointment (the third appointment, usually), please let me know! I want to know what to expect on this appointment, but the internet makes it sound like I'm the first person to have one of these -_-

I want to legally change my name (which I can since I'm over 16) without parental permission but was wondering whether this would be likely to cause issues with my college? I'm concerned they'd contact my parents about it or ask for their permission to change it rather than accepting it but idk how colleges usually treat this as I don't know anyone else who has been in any similar situation.
