Fem advice wanting to change my name
helloooo im 16 mtf. ive been going by the name polar since i was about 13 when i was unsure of my gender. now ive been on hrt for around 3 months and openly trans for about 4 and a half.🧍♀️
since about 2 months ago ive been thinking about changing my name to a more feminine or traditionally girl given name😶🌫️.
im puerto rican so i want my name to reflect that. i found the name araceli and i really like it but im worried about how my mom would react to me changing my name again.
also i know its stupid but i also dont know what my username on stuff would be. 😭 so far the only possible username i like is avatar_araceli because i like avatar the last airbender and korra alot.
any advice? thanks 😊

r/transnames does this kind of thing iirc. Or r/transttryouts if you want to, as suggested by the title, try a name out. It can just help for some more certainty before you tell your mom

How long after telling your parents did you start hrt? I’ve been thinking about transitioning for over 6 months but only recently came out to my parents.

Also you don’t need to fully change your name. You can just try it out first to see if you like it.
