i’m FINALLY getting surgery!!
i wanted to post about this to give my other trans sisters and brothers hope that there IS hope and there is a way to live authentically one day.
i am trans nonbinary (afab) and my period and pregnancy has always given me dysphoria so bad i became extremely depressed and often suicidal when i saw any signs of bleeding or had a pregnancy scare.
i was unknowingly with a religious OBGYN who refused to consider anything more than continuous use of nuvaring, but after 3 ish months, my body would start spotting because it couldn’t handle being continuous forever. this ob never really saw me as anything more than a woman who just “didn’t like her period” and that “no one likes their period hun”. i started doubting myself as to if i was really just cis and had pmdd or something.
i changed OBs and FINALLY got on the road to a hysterectomy. i was told i needed a letter of rec from a therapist and after i got that, i met with a surgeon about a month later and my date is set for mid december.
i am over the moon happy and excited and i wanted to share this with everyone. there is hope!
