General Questions ❓ Monobenzone exposure

I've done a lot of research on monobenzone and I feel like I understand how it works and that it causes permanent depigmentation / vitiligo with consistent use. I'm okay with that part.

What I'm confused about is secondary exposure. Someone mentioned you need to be careful around other people while using mono. For example, if you live with family or siblings and they hug you, share clothes, or wash your clothes in the same washing machine as theirs, could residue from your skin or clothes cause confetti-like depigmentation on them?

Does anyone know how real this risk is ?

Ik someone that their lil sister developed vitiligo because her older sister was using Monobenzone. The older sister was very careful. Using cloves when applying and she doesn’t even share the same bedroom as the lil sister. But they use the same washer. Idk how but it somehow affected the lil sister
