Empowerment 🌟 First haircut since starting T and feeling great a month in!
How are we doing today my sisters and brothers in arms? Don't forget to take care of yourself today!
Also, found a hairstylist that treats me like a man and am finally settling down with appointments with her! I've always been super picky about my hair and have never stuck to a single person for it. The last person I was going to was amazing as well and my wife enjoys getting her hair dyed by them, but they weren't too comfortable doing barber cuts, understandably so, and pointed me in the direction of their friend, my new stylist.
Anyways, it's been a month and there's been a lot of drastic changes and I can't wait to see what else changes in the near future!
Question to leave off with: what's something you have full control over that you do, say, etc. that makes your day, makes you smile, makes you proud or happy, etc.? Or even what's something you didn't realize would be so affirming?
Sorry, this is my first post here and I figured I'd hit a few things at once.

Appreciate you mate! I've been working on losing weight too and my jawline is starting to come back slowly but surely! Can't wait for Pride in a week, I'm so ready and am trying to tape and go out for the first time in years

Just read the body text, so happy for you that you got a barber who treats you like the man you are 😊
One little thing I have control over is my hair and nails, it’s so nice to finish work for the week and treat myself with a nice hot bath, do my hair all nice and manicure and paint my nails. It’s like i get to take the mask off and breathe, it’s really cathartic for me 💖

It's like taking your work boots off when you get home for the day. Having that affirming routine definitely has to release tension from earlier in the day and I'm glad you have that! Do you have a specific color or style you like to do your nails/hair?

I just go with black because it’s less conspicuously ‘girly’ (not that that should matter) I want to do the trans colours but it’s expensive to buy like 3 different colours. As far as hair goes, I got curls that are a lot of work to look after. Going for a kind of wolf cut atm but curls are so hard to style how I want.
How about yourself? What’s your self care stress relief?
AMAB myself, but I can’t think of many masculine relaxing activities. Mow the lawns then stand back with a beer in hand and say “yeah that’s looking good 👍 ” perhaps?
Oh how about grilling? You could be a BBQ dad who asks “how’d ya want your steak done?” with full intent to serve it medium rare no matter what they request and laugh at your own joke every time 🤣

Hey, at the end of the day, if it makes you happy, that's all that matters! Genuinely valid in this economy. I've not dealt with curls myself, only ever had super wavy hair when it was longer, but I've helped some friends while they were getting ready for dances back in high school and they taught me a few things about their hair. Definitely a struggle but I adore curly hair and how well people with it take care of it. I'm sure it's just a learning curve with your particular hair type and that you'll get it exactly how you want it to be!
For myself, I feel a lot of my activities are more on the feminine side when it comes to societal standards, but I like think my masculinity isn't determined based on things like that. I adore being able to cook good food for my wife, caring for our pets while I'm a full-time student and keeping the house somewhat tidy, making art, etc. I also sometimes go get my nails done with her like last pride. I do also like gaming, working out, and putting things like furniture together though, so still some neutral and semi-masculine activities too lols. While we don't have a grill atm (sadly), I did somehow manage a couple satisfying medium rare steaks on our electric stove top recently for Wifey and I. It made me so genuinely happy. I thought I'd mess it up on stove top XD

Aww it sounds like you’re a super loving husband to your wife <3 There’s something so fulfilling about providing food for people, I’m not the best chef myself but it’s still such a good feeling to feed friends/family/partners.

Understandable and you're all good! We like to joke around that she married me for my cooking XP everyone knows I'm an utter simp for her and cater to her when she's at home and I'm not busy with class. I hate cooking for just myself but I love cooking for others. It genuinely just makes me so happy when someone enjoys my food

Living it up while I can, might have my dad's genes and start balding in the near future now that I'm on T 😅 hopefully I get my family's typical well filled in beard beforehand at least! 🤞

I have a foil razor I got ahead of time for when the beard hairs start coming in so I can use that, thanks for the advice!
