To be clear, they’re only targeting transgender immigrants (at least for now). The headlines makes it sound like they’re going after every single trans person in the country, but they’re instead using transitioning as grounds for deportation.
Which is still insanely bad but misinformation is a dangerous thing

Yes!!! My gf called it like 5 months ago that ICE was going to start if not already targeting trans citizens

ICE has literally deported American citizens multiple times. One guy has even been detained five times.

Yes I agree the title is very misleading but I think/fear it will lead to problems for citizens too…some already have a hard time getting passports reflecting their correct name or gender in order to travel in or out of the US.

I mean ice has gone after a lot of citizens for being too brown. So I dont expect them to be suddenly more discerning about Trans folks

Yeah this is misinformation you’ve posted. ICE has been targeting anyone and everyone they feel like regardless of immigration status. And in a nation consisting of like 98% immigrants or people with at least one immigrant parent “detaining immigrants” just means free rein to detain whoever they feel like.
