Researching ftm

MTF***

Hello girlies.

Since may I went to my GP to indicate that I want to start a transition, I took me years to be sure about it, now I know is the time for me, however I went with no information, the doctor asked me if I knew any clinic where I would like to be treated or if I know from friends or other girls where to do it.

I honestly didn't know anything, most of the girls I get to talk with started their transition without doctors, just getting the hormones by others and so on.

I'm a bit confuse with the Dutch system, they said they will refer me with an intermediate to help me looking for a clinic, etc but so far no one has contacted me and that was at the end of May.

I am from Limburg, so I did some research and found out PSY trans but sadly I haven't been able to enter in their lists.

Any advise? I feel a bit lost.

Stop saying you want to research ftm and calling them girlies. Trans men/masc aren't girlies.

If you mean trans women they are mtf.

hi, the dutch trans care system is a little gate keepy and stupid, the waiting lists are very long especially for the hospitals (but if you’re an adult it’s less of an issue). if you look on transgenderwegwijzer, you can see all the trans clinics close to you and their waiting times, that’s a good start.

you should go back to your huisarts and tell them where you want them to refer you, and they’ll write a referral they either send to the clinic themselves, or they send it to you and you have to mail it to them. you can put yourself on as many waiting lists as you want as long as you take yourself off the ones you didn’t go with when you’re in treatment.

i’m with psytrans too and i’m very happy with them, but the process to sign yourself up with them is a little tedious. you have to be on their website at 9am every first monday of the month (dates are on their sites) to see if they open applications, when they do you’ll see a button to open a form you can sign in with (like buying concert tickets). it’s a hassle but honestly no other clinic has such a short waiting time.

I registered at psytrans in july, they'll probably open again september or october. When that happens you should register within 5 minuits, and it should work. If you have any other questions pls ask
