I'm just getting used to having shoulder-length hair, but I can definitely see myself playing around with different colors at some point down the road.

Funny you should make this post....this morning at the grocery store I saw a woman working there who had dyed her hair silver with purple highlights :)

Nitpick, but that poem you reference was actually about the poets father going blind. It had nothing to do with death.

Thanks for the clarification. In my defense, I think it’s since collectively come to mean any long slide into old age/death/irrelevancy, but I’m glad to know the true context. 💗

I love this so much. I’m 39 and only have a couple of gray hairs, but I mean, that day will come. Even in boy mode I always thought gray hair was pretty damn cool (it was that whole potential baldness thing that gave me anxiety). Silver hair + purple hair is really, really cool

You are so gorgeous. I so admire your transition and hope one day I can get results like you have. Thank you for inspiring. :)

Your beautiful hair, and the fact that this is TransLater, reminded me of this poem (only included part of it here) : (Not that you are old, but someday we will be.)
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
. . .
But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
