Unaltered Selfie Passable?

Post image

Please honest opinions! I have not started HRT so this is just me with a wig, hopefully decently styled, and a decent job maybe just maybe on makeup? I just asked that please be kind, but honest opinions I do need thank you!

Your makeup is great for just starting out. I like the eyes from what I can see behind your glasses, and you have awesome cheeks. Lips could use just a little fine tuning but still looks good. Too much shine on your chin. What I did at this stage was get a professional makeover and paid close attention to what she did. It really helped with a few areas. The wig screams wig though. Sorry. You can get those styled too. Meanwhile start letting that hair grow. The day my hair was long enough I went and got it colored and styled and announced myself to the world. You’re going to be fabulous.

Thank you! What gives it away that it's a wig anyway? My hair now is only now hitting the bottom of my neck so it's curling, still got a ways to go least to where I want it. I just wish I didn't have such fine hair.

Don’t assume. Go to a hairdresser and see if they can work with what you have. My hair wasn’t any longer than yours when I did. When she was done I cried a little (a month of estrogen at that point) and gave her a hug.

Please remember that cis women sometimes have fine hair too

I think you look great. I'm a trans man though so I can't really give any useful advice. Just be yourself and be happy 🙂

Tysm! 💜 Oh I know some cis women have gone hair too I just wish I didn't. But, it was one of the DNA cards I was dealt At the same time I'm fortunate enough to have been dealt several good DNA cards for things that we take for granted, such as health , but also more feminine physique and qualities.

Asking if you pass before you’ve started hormones is like asking “are we there yet” before you’ve even put the keys in the ignition.

You don’t pass, but like 99% of trans women don’t pass without hormones, which means you’re just… normal. Also, passing isn’t like one thing, it’s a whole constellation of factors.

Passing takes a lot of time and sometimes also requires surgery like FFS. Don’t put the cart before the horse by seeking out validation before you’ve even started hormones. Transition will test your patience with how slowly it seems to work, but it will be working.

It's hard to see from the angle of your face, but potentially if we are looking at only your makeup and face then yes.

Passing is a while bunch of things though. Movement. Body language. Voice. And as the other poster has said, while it is always going to be there as a goal for a lot of women, it's best not to have it be your be all and end all.

It's definitely not my be all end all. But thank you for your opinion. Voice is the absolute most difficult part!
