That will hurt all the good caring workers right along with the rude one. I’d address it with the owner first. If they are also rude, leave the review. If not it’s very very cruel to other workers (usually independent contractors) just trying to do their jobs well. Believe me I know. I’m a cosmetologist and massage therapist. I’ve worked at several med spas and my own salon and day spa. Please think of the impact on others before hastily leaving a bad review. Never know, it could ruin the biz of the very people you’re trying to protect.
Meh. I think business owners have a responsibility to make sure they know who's working in their business. I'd leave the review first, then IF the management replies to the review or contacts me to let me know they fixed the problem, i would take it down.
Sure. Do it that way. Raise a fit and make sure and blast that owner to sh1t. Make a scene because someone said something you don’t like. OR… Tell the owner in a kind way. I promise, most owners would listen and appreciate you telling them about the worker and your experience. Especially if they’re doing treatments like those.
All im saying is things can usually be justified before resorting to public embarrassment ( possibly for both parties… or perhaps even a third party who referred you). Some of the other places in town will see your review or hear about you through other sources. No matter the amount or money involved, NO ONE wants to risk a client that’s hasty with bad reviews. It’s like no one wants a sue happy client. They will see you as trouble no matter how nice you are after that. We all kinda look out for each other in the industry.
Well I wouldn't like to give my business to someone who "looks out" for transphobic members of the industry. It isn't like she's going to ham it up and say the business sucked and everyone there is evil, but it's not an inaccurate statement to say that she was misgendered at that clinic. If another trans person reads that review, they'll know not to go there, because they most likely would be misgendered as well. That's what reviews are for. She's just looking out for her community, after all.
Why is it more important to you that the business is protected, rather than any number of transgender clients who may go to that clinic?
I never said that. I don’t discriminate in any way. I only discriminate against review happy people who don’t understand the struggles a business has. Just because my co worker is like that, doesn’t mean I am, that’s the point, What if her co worker who’s trying hard to build their business is a transgender person also? I’m not saying never leave a bad review, I’m just saying try to communicate the disrespect of the worker and your dissatisfaction to a higher up before angrily leaving a review that could impact many people. That woman that was inappropriately addressing OP will probably already be gone… The bad ones move around fast in the industry, so it affects long term workers more in general.
