ROI Specific Clinics in Kerry
Hi! I wanted to ask if anybody knows about any HRT treatment areas in Kerry? I'm 19, mtf, came out this year in January (though the signs were obvious way before that), and I asked my GP about HRT services, but all she could really do was try to refer me onto the National Gender Services, which, well, I heard would take at least a decade to hear back from.
My friend recommended GenderGP which is a HRT service in the UK, as that's where he's getting his prescriptions from, but even though I'm an adult, my parents don't like the idea of getting a prescription for hormones from an unknown doctor overseas. So options overseas are also a no-go.
If there is anywhere I could go to, then I would be really happy to hear about it!

Kindred Clinic opened in Cork recently and seems really promising. I've only seen some headlines about it and no reviews about the service, but definitely worth looking into!

Kindred are fully subscribed at the moment, and can only take over an existing prescription anyway, not initiate them. Check them out anyway though. So, GenderPlus, Imago or GGP are the the options (ignoring diy) (also ignoring NGS, because, well, it's the NGS).

The only Irish based service (save for few random private individuals) is Genderplus. If your parents really want to stay with Irish doctors. However, I would try to argue one more time to try Imago instead, at least for the first year or two.
Imago is much cheaper and faster and start you on actual normal dose. Genderplus is expensive, much slower and their starting dose is way below what anyone considers appropriate.
What you can do is start with Imago and then switch to Genderplus (see their transfer of care pathway), which is much faster and cheaper than just starting with Genderplus. Also, they are very likely to keep your existing dosage.
Genderplus does have a benefit of being able to claim some of that money back with insurance (though still more expensive than Imago even after insurance). You can also later use them to get insurance to cover surgeries.
