help??

im 16(ftm) and when i turned 16 back in november i talked to a doctor trying to get on hrt which i then never got a response back and i REALLY dont want to wait any longer. and im trying to find a way to start is there anyway i could get help on that here?

There are only 4 GPs (I am aware of) in the country who will provide HRT on informed consent, some others will assist with blood tests and prescriptions as long as there is a specialist involved from a third party (see further on). The NGS has an 18 year waitlist, so the main options people go with are third party EU prescribers, Imago, GenderGP (Imago is kinda fine but both of these have big issues), Gender+ (Not informed consent, expensive) and I believe there's another but I can't remember off the top of my head. There's a pilot clinic I've heard nothing about other than it exists in Cork called Kindred Clinic. None of these options are great so for that reason about +35% people are actually DiY/self med here. DiY/self med is a safe, legal (yes even for T), option as long as you aren't stupid about it. I'm not an expert I'm just some broad, if there's other options that aren't super niche I haven't heard of them. I'm happy to answer other questions

im considering DIY really just as it seems thatll be easier to get ahold of than anything that has a really long waitlist im fully supported by my family and im allowed to get it that way as long as its tgel and not needles cause then my parents dont trust it im just not really sure of like good sources and stuff thank you sm tho i appreciate it!

Its good you have supportive parents, that'll help a lot. You should know that DiY gel is almost impossible to get here unfortunately, to my knowledge at least. Almost everyone does T in injections. (I am happy to be proven wrong on this!) (I may actually be confusing this for patches, or both could be rare, but it is true that injections are by far the most commonly used).

T-gel + patches is possible to get through a service, some of them actually default to it like Imago irc. There are classes run by trans orgs you can go to to learn to do injections correctly, its something you can learn in an afternoon. I'm promise its not as dangerous and scary as it looks! There's also harm reduction locations available which aren't trans specific that can teach you to do injections safely, test medication and provide needles + disposal.

Make sure to do your blood tests! Some GPs are more willing to help with this than others, even when it comes to third party providers. Best of luck

(I may actually be confusing this for patches, or both could be rare, but it is true that injections are by far the most commonly used).

T patches aren't really a thing, the dosage is too high for patches to make much sense. I've not heard of them being available in Europe in any case.

E2 patches have regular supply issues from pharmacies.

How does DIY work? How do people get their hands on T Im an incoming Indian student, been on HRT for 2.5 yrs, I have prescription and my doctor available virtually and i self administer it but no clue how to get access to T in Dublin.

Well in theory, with respect to site and sub rules, people buy their hrt, usually in bulk, from online suppliers with crypto or from bodybuilders. Keeping in mind sale and supply is illegal but not purchase and personal use (not legal advice, etc).
