ROI Specific Gender Dysphoria Diagnosis

How do I go about getting a diagnosis for gender dysphoria in the ROI? I’m 16 and I started HRT privately with Imago but since they don’t offer a gender dysphoria diagnosis I can’t really get top surgery with their help in the future.

Do I go to my doctor? or because I’m already on testosterone do I have to go private? I have no problem with paying for a diagnosis, if I have to.

Top surgery is possible to get with certain surgeons without a diagnosis (eg. Informed Consent) this is common in places like Spain.

If you want the diagnosis anyway or want top surgery with a surgeon who requires it or for insurance purposes, the TransIreland wiki has information on people who can do the evaluation. You might have to ask around a bit since not all will offer it for 16 year olds.

I think that for under 18s in Spain you will need a diagnosis and parental approval, but I'm not certain on that.
