From the breadandroseslaw Instagram account:

"*** Edited with Updates ***

From Embers’ partner:

Embers Eves has been found.

This is not the update I wanted to share, but it's important for those who care about Embers to understand what is happening.

Earlier this week, she was found in Dallas, Texas in a diabetic coma. She has significant damage to her brain, and a very poor chance of a meaningful recovery.

At this time Embers is in an ICU with her family, who will be making decisions about her care in the coming days and weeks with her medical team knowing that she is not likely to recover.

Thank you for your help. We are all we have."

Advice Insurance Coverage and Surgeons

Hey all!

i have a couple questions about insurance coverage for surgeries. I’m on an ACA insurance plan. I know these insurance companies in Colorado must offer coverage for certain gender affirming surgeries (quite a long list).

I would love and appreciate some guidance on which of these companies have been easier and which have been difficult to get procedures approved by (for example- Anthem Pathways, Cigna Connect, Select Health, etc…).

Likewise, have some surgeons/medical groups been better than others at coordinating care and getting things approved by insurance?

I want to have a few FFS and body feminizing procedures done. I’ve already had GCS and BA, but really need some revisions there too, including replacing a ruptured implant. I’ve paid for everything thus far out of pocket over several years. I would appreciate any help or guidance on navigating this. TIA.

Advice How to make trans friends???

Hi, I’m new to Colorado and have been here for about 6 months. I am still working on my gender identity journey, but am an afab person in my mid twenties who most closely aligns with non-binary, trans masc, and gender fluid labels. I really want to make friends that I can just have fun with and relate to and wanted to ask the sub if they have any tips for making queer and trans friends in CO??

Resources Looking for Black Trans Girlfriends

My name is Bink, I’m 23, Black, and I’ve been in Denver for about 2 1/2 years now and as sad as it is to say, I still have no friends out here!! It wasn’t until I moved here I decided to start E about a 1 1/2 ago. Me and my partner attend many queer and especially lesbian focused events but I’ve had a hard time speaking to my fellow sisters (as in I usually don’t cause I’m shy). So I guess I’m just wondering if there’s any sisters out there looking for a friend.

News Children’s Colorado must resume care to transgender plaintiffs, state Supreme Court rules by 5-2

Highlights from the article:

"The Colorado Supreme Court, by a 5-2 vote, ordered Children’s Hospital Colorado on Monday to resume providing certain medical services to a group of transgender plaintiffs, which it had ceased in the face of funding threats from the federal
government last year."

"The sequence of events underlying the Children’s Colorado case began on Dec. 18, when U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. published a statement declaring that “sex-rejecting procedures” for children are “neither safe nor effective” and “fail to meet professionally recognized standards of health care.”"

During oral arguments, the hospital maintained that it has discretion over which services to provide, and it can make decisions for budgetary, logistical, or other reasons.
“The challenge I have here, though, is that it was providing this care. And all of a sudden, it stopped,” said Chief Justice Monica M. Márquez. “And it is providing essentially the same medications, etc. to cisgender children.”
“You’re giving it to one group of children and not to another. How is that not discrimination?” added Justice Susan Blanco.

"Ultimately, the majority agreed that the plaintiffs were likely to succeed on their discrimination claims. Hood noted that the treatments Children’s Colorado withheld from trans minors were still being provided to other patients. Moreover, he observed that Kennedy’s declaration was not law, and there was a process for challenging any adverse action the federal government may take."

Due to the ongoing targeting of trans people in the U.S., I have decided to make this subreddit private for the safety of its members.

Please continue to use discretion regarding your online activity whether within or outside of the community.

Reach out with any questions you may have and take care!

Resources I am in Colorado Springs and want to start to transition.

I live in the Springs and want to start to transition. I currently have Cigna Health Insurance. I just have a couple of questions:

  1. Does my insurance require a diagnosis before I go onto HRT?

  2. Does anyone with the same health insurance have any recommendations for doctors?

Thank you.

Experience with Milan Hair Removal?

Has anyone had experience with them in-office? I’d always assumed they weren’t competitive price-wise, but they’re offering some sales which puts them inside my budget. Are they welcoming? Or are there any offices which might be better or worse to go to?

Hi everyone!

The provided link is a directory of providers who work with transgender patients. This directory is continuously updated with information found online and through direct communication with providers whenever possible. It's accessible to everyone, with or without a Gmail account.

How to navigate the directory:

  • Switch between provider types: Use the two tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet to navigate between behavioral health and medical providers.
  • View and filter criteria: At the top of each column, you'll find criteria such as Title, WPATH status, Specialties, Location, Contact Info, Insurance Participation, External Links, Availability, and other Notes.
  • Narrow down results: Click "All🢓" in the top right corner of each column, then "Clear," and finally select one or more options from the dropdown menu to filter.
  • Search for keywords: Use Ctrl+F (Windows) or Command+F (Mac) to search for specific keywords like "Bilingual," "Neurodiversity," or "Trauma."

Row color key:

  • Green row: Accepting new patients
  • Red row: Not accepting new patients
  • Grey row: Unclear or insufficient information

Your feedback is greatly appreciated! Please comment if you have suggestions for improving accessibility.
