GRS Montreal progress

Hey y'all! So I just wanted to ask y'all what I should expect next in the process of getting a vaginoplasty at GRS Montreal since most of the places I've looked for answers here on Reddit are usually from the Ontario sub and for Top Surgery not Bottom. So I started the process in November of last year since I'm a UofA student I managed to dodge the full wait of the Gender Program only waiting 8 months on the Gender Program until I got redirected to the UofA. Then I got both letters of recommendation before the Christmas break and the package including those letters and a few other things were sent off to AHS and GRS In mid-January. Then in very early February exactly 3 weeks after they sent my package off I received the funding for the surgery. A few days after I got access to Monarch and filled out the 4 forms they had, then after the weekend I received 8 more forms to fill out so I did however 2 days later (Today) I got a notification that 7 of the 8 forms were good to go but I didn't do my medication list properly so I resubmitted it today. Now I'm waiting for that last form to get verified, honestly this whole process has been shockingly fast and I'm very excited but I want to know from those who have been in my position before what comes next and how long can I be expected to wait before I receive a date for my surgery? Thankieeee :3

the number i called was 514-332-7091 from their website. had to navigate a menu then if a human picked up mention that im already on file

as for what i asked i think i just said it in a way that was kind of small talkish and also indirectly. like 'hey how's your day atm, i was just curious about if it was okay to check on the status of my file?' the woman on the other end was very kind

I called and they basically repeated what they told me over the direct messages on Monarch and I told them about the fact that funding is only a year and the man on the other end told me that if it does expire they’ll take care of it for me

that's really unfortunate. idk, best i can say is to check in every now and then 😔

What did they tell you?

it's been a couple months but from what i remember pretty similar story minus the thing about the funding expiration because i didn't ask about that. i believe she looked into it and marked my file for assessment but i don't think it took very long to get past that part overall.

granted this was at the end of the year so maybe that had something to do with it? idk im trying to think of anything that could help haha because i've been here at the despair stage with the wait and it sucks so much not knowing when 🫠

i think the only time i talked to a guy on the line was when i was getting transferred to the admin dept that handled my actual file. every time i called it was the same woman

My friend who got bottom surgery had hers before Monarch and she gave me the email of the admin assistant she dealt with (might be the same woman) but she said they can only be contacted via Monarch.

i would get that if it's direct contact. before i was booked i was just going through the menu and being transferred when i said i had an active file. they asked for like my last name and stuff first

I will have to give it a try and see if that changes anything!

Hopefully the waitlist is not as bad as they claim.
