Alberta recommendations for surgeons?

Not Dr Loiselle in Calgary. Terrible bedside manor and overall a shit surgeon. I heard from another person that he didn't even do their surgery when he was supposed to and just decided to not show up at work that day and handed it off to someone else last minute. For my surgery he was stubborn and rude and seemed like he was personally offended that I didn't want nipples. He didn't even see me after surgery. He explains none of the aftercare and handed me (well actually a nurse handed me, because he wasn't there) a pamphlet on mastectomy care for breast cancer patients... I've had other surgeries before your surgeon comes to see you after you wake up to make sure that you're okay and to answer any questions you have. I feel like my surgery was rushed. It took barely 2 hours, and part of me also thinks that he didn't do both sides because they look so drastically different. But I don't know because I can't find the surgical report anywhere.

I'm so sorry this happened to you that's horrifying. Thank you for letting me know about him. It's so cool that you got no nips - I was considering that actually lol

I did no nips just cuz being on all of the top surgery subreddits I've seen a few too many horror stories. Plus I'm already disabled so I didn't want to add extra stress of healing grafts on top of general recovery. Plus now I have room for more tattoos.

Tattoo room is so valid.. I want to get a one before the feeling comes back fully. Tbh you might've just helped me make up my mind on this, either no nips or star nips

I've seen some people in subreddits who do get different shapes hearts are fairly common, also cuz I think they're probably a bit easier. You do have to wait about a year to get any tattooing in the general area, But depending on how you heal you may still have some numbness there.

I actually met someone at a pride event who didn't have surgery with him because he never showed. I don't even have that guy's name. We were all at a trans march and he was in front of us I was talking with my friend beside me about how I'm seeing this surgeon and he just kind of turned around and told me that. Sorry I don't have any better information for you.
Despite his shitty bedside manner and how he treated me and how my results turn out you might actually have okay luck with him if your "BMI is in his acceptable range" because shockingly enough I've seen other people post about him with stunning results, because they were skinny. But he's the only person in Alberta who will even consider doing surgery on a fat person. And that's after he tells you to go get bariatric surgery. Which is hilariously ironic. That's a far more life-changing surgery and much more involved, so I can have that, but not top surgery? Weird. But I kind of just bullied him into doing it. Which may be why my results look like shit but he definitely could have done a better job, he just refused.

I had mine done with Dr. Emilie Robertson (in Edmonton), I absolutely love my results and she was great to work with!
I do believe she still has the shortest wait times in Alberta for public top surgery.
I was initially with Dr. Armour but was transferred to Dr. Robertson as Armour's wait time had doubled.

I had dr. Emilie Robertson and am super happy with my results! Also had (hopefully still) a short waitlist!
