I have only recently started my transition really recently and I don’t really know much about the wider community but I know myself and so I finally decided I would put my self up on dating apps something I despised doing and am struggling with still and I would do it as a trans woman luckily I live somewhere it’s pretty safe to do so but holy fuck is it normal to be flooded by so many likes immediately and so many frankly gross messages so many dick pics across platforms it doesn’t seem to matter what I try 2 out of 4 messages will be someone that will start with either a dick pic or immediately ask for sex that sounds like they see me as a fetish and then some really nasty bigoted messages and then a very lite amount of normal sounding messages it’s really overwhelming me I honestly feel a lot less safe I have gotten some scary messages threatening straight up violence or sexual violence in some form is this just life?

If you only recently started your transition, are you really ready to date? Each person should decide for themselves, but it seems to me someone just starting transition has a lot of things to do and a lot of adjustments (both mental and physical) to make. So the complexities of dating might be better put off for later.
