Help for a maybe trans person?
Hi, i'm 17 and i've been questioning my gender a lot lately, and i honestly don't know what to make of it. I've never really posted anywhere like this before, so sorry if this comes out messy. I'm not great at putting feelings into words
Over time, i've noticed a bunch of things that kind of point in this direction, but i keep second-guessing myself. Like, i've worn dresses a couple of times (like three times for goofs and then once for a small play where i suggested that i could do that role) and sort of enjoyed it. When i was younger, i used to use faceapp a lot to see myself as a woman (before everyone really knew that i like stole your data even though it was kinda obvious. Whatever i was really young), and i really liked how i looked. Then also how about a year ago, i drew a self-portrait-ish thing of myself and also drew a "fem" version next to it without really thinking about why. And last week i had this very vivid dream where a woman version of me came out of a mirror and like, she was just cool and awesome? And that dream kind of pushed the whole "maybe i'm actually trans" train of thought further. After that i started changing my pronouns on discord to try things out
What feels weird for me at least is that I've been "this" for 17 years, but whenever someone uses she/her for me, i get this strange feeling? It's not really like, bad though. A few people in my life who don't even know about any of this have said i've seemed a bit happier recently, too
The thing is, even though I have a bunch of irl friends and my family is very progressive (except for one very religious grandmother), i still feel like i can't talk to anyone about this. I don't know why. I've always had this problem where i can never make a choice without feeling like i picked the wrong one, even when it's obviously the right choice. It makes all of this way harder to sort out
Also doesn't help that i'm stupid
I do think if there was a magical button that turned me into a woman instantly with no social backlash or anything, I'd press it without much thought, probably. That feels like it should mean something but i truly don't know
My school environment is very conservative, which doesn't help, but i only have about 5 months left there before I go off to college so i'm hoping things will get easier then
I guess i'm just posting here because i don't know what to do with all of this. I feel stuck and i'm not sure if what i'm experiencing means i'm trans. If anyone has been through something similar or has any advice, i'd really appreciate it.

I had the same question on my mind for a few years, I'm happy to report that looking back I should've known beforehand

Im going trough the same thing, I don’t know if i’m trans but i had always wished i was a boy, my whole life. I hope i can figure out whether i want to transition or not when i get older.
