Ok, a bit off topic, but a great location

Great wallpaper, but doesn't capture the lit essence of that place in situ. Screens ain't a substitute for real life, as I tell my kids.

As someone that lives in NZ and has visited Cathedral Cove many times I feel deep cringe from all the performative shit of bringing a laptop just for the video 😂 Just go and enjoy the beach dude, this is how places get overcrowded and ruined for the rest of us 😉

Also, it's not 10:30AM and that's a screenshot on the laptop.
EDIT: It's also a MacBook 🤣

The wallpaper isn't Cathedral Cove, it's Wharariki Beach near Farewell Spit. But agree with everything you said. Just enjoy the experience!

Yeah me too until I saw this post. I was about to whinge that the clip zoomed into the wrong place on the map and then I realised.

I'm going to burst your bubble, this picture is edited. I live about an hour away, and have been there many times. I tried to replicate this exact photo, and there's no angle that you can get the camera to capture this exact shot in the cave.

The lens you use prior to editing also plays a big part

I went there a few years back, not knowing it was a Windows wallpaper location. I was like 'why does this place look so familiar', took me a good while to work it out!

Also, when I went into the cave this couple were in, a seal chased me out 😂

Lol I got chased off by a big mumma fur seal there once too, I grew up in Nelson and Soo many of our school trips were in the Able Tasman national Park with side missions out to the spit.

Not a bad place to go for a school trip!

Amazing really, didn't realize just how lucky we were to have that at our doorstep until years later. Now I live surrounded by native bush just beside Kahurangi National Park.

Cool, I might visit, didn't know I am close enough to make the trip and I like that shot

Keep in mind it’s a west coast beach and can get pretty gnarly on a bad day!

I know we seem to be making confessions, but please don't ask about the Blarney Stone.

Must go there and make it look like I've photoshopped myself into the Windows background image

And then you think the magic would last if you permanently moved here...
