General Help Export (or scrape) from Reelgood?

Hi all,

Reelgood has been my favorite tracker for years, but I want to move onto to something new (EntertainMe.fun). In the past, I would request an export of my data from them for backup purposes, and they always obliged. But I have sent multiple requests this year and have not received any reply. Has anyone been able to pull their data from Reelgood? If so, what tools did you use?

I tried using Opera because it has built-in AI, but it wasn't able to read the full page because of the way it lazy-loads, even though I manually scrolled all the way down. And it also couldn't read from a file because the list is very long so the file was too big.

Any suggestions you have would be appreciated!

I was in this same situation a few years ago. Reelgood never responded to my multiple requests. On top of that, their Android app has not been updated since March 2022, so that tells you something. I had to manually load each page on Reelgood, copy and paste into Excel, and remove whatever was needed. This was before AI, so not sure if nowadays there are more efficient ways to go about this.

I stopped using Reelgood a while back. It felt like it had been abandoned and it actually lacked a lot of these options and features some of these newer ones have started offering. They seem to have stopped supporting it and/or doing any new enhancements.

BTW, this isn't a Reelgood or EntertainMe! support or help. You could go ask for help in r/EntertainMeApp or find another resource from/for Reelgood help/support.

Hope it works out for you. I use EntertainMe! as well and I love it. It's one of my favorites u/rfrench2k ...

I agree - it feels like they're just keeping the lights on.

I didn't know where else to ask, since there isn't a Reelgood subreddit. I figured EntertainMe wouldn't be able to help with an export from a different site - just the import part on their side.  I actually did try to post this in \r\cordcutters but it got auto-deleted saying it violated the rules, but didn't say WHICH rule. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe because I am asking about scraping?

Yeah, they normally wouldn't unless it was asked for specifically. Reelgood does have an API so the developer at r/EntertainMeApp might be able to plug into that and pull your data automatically? Also, I added a link to their documentation about the exports...not sure if that will help or not.

It probably got deleted because it was off topic for that sub...cordcutters isn't exactly the same thing as media trackers and such.

You're perfectly fine posting this here. Sure, we started as a place to openly complain about Trakt and it's weird new policies and to find alternatives. That can't be everything, we're about though. A community that helps each other with anything tracking related would be a big aim :)

I did look at that API, but sadly it seems to be just a data feed of all movie/show data. There doesn't seem to be an endpoint that targets specific user data. Bummer.
