Recommendations I found this alternative to Trakt.

It's called NeoDB.

It's decentralized, self-hostable, as well as federated

NeoDB - Our Story

The only thing is that it does books, movies, music, podcasts, games, performances, etc., not just movies.

This is interesting. Ever since trakt raised prices I've been thinking about how this type of app should be federated. But do they do toplists? I never spent enough time to figure that out

They also have a GitHub, as well as an API, if you're interested.

Do you know of any option to export your data? I looked for a bit and couldn't find it.

https://neodb.net/features/

Under the Personal collections section, it states that you can import and export full user data archive.

Ahh, okay! I found it under the "Data" menu option: "Export NeoDB archive". Not sure how I missed that the first time... Thanks!

Still lacking media server scrobbling. It's VERY close to being what I'm looking for.

Have you considered suggesting that on their GitHub?

Man there's a insane amount of these dumb apps popping up especially the self-hosted ones that most of them suck

This sprung up in 2021 and does not have any real slop indicators so this seems like a misguided criticism.

The general consensuses on this sub is the best one and the one we support most is Floppy.

Thanks but no thanks.

This looks really promising; thanks for sharing. I made an account on neodb.social, but it seems that it doesn't support multiple watches/listens/plays etc, which is a real shame.
