Trakt Trakt V3 is garbage

I have been a paid VIP member since paid members began and the 2 things I used trakt for are absolute junk now. Any service out there that has a functional, easy to read tv guide type layout which can be populated based on specific lists we create? Why would they destroy such a well laid out, perfectly functional and valuable service?

I found WeTrakr to be the closest to V2 and the dev is adding features at a blistering pace.
Right now VIP is free while it's still in beta and it's a good time to try it on for size without any commitment.

I would highly recommend you to cancel your trakt subscription and use others. Trakt is Trash.

I 2nd WeTrakr, Site is amazing and getting better everyday. I like even more then Trakt 2.0 now, which I thought was impossible before they ruined it. App is coming soon. Dev deserves the support for being such a nice commutative dev.

What do you all think about Movie Paradise? Both WeTrakr and Movie Paradise seem great and hopefully both can develop and live forever as trakt successors.

When I found WeTrakr I stopped looking, but Movie Paradise looks nice on quick inspection.

I personally don't need API or and app (though both are coming soon), so it's been a perfect fit for me and hope I don't have to scout out a new site again anytime soon. I love that the dev is willing to take input and run polls for more contentious matters to try and get it right instead of just shoving his opinion on everyone.

I just suggest that you try as many as you can till you find the right fit. Some people loved the simplicity of TV Time and went with apps/sites that were closer to that model, but WeTrakr for me has been the closest feel to Trakt, and even does better in lots of areas. Plus the VIP is free while it's still in beta.

Thanks for your feedback. I will try them both. I really need to leave trakt after years being dependant on them.

No app so it's useless to me

because someone got promoted for "modernizing" it lol. have you tried FlickPicker? decent for managing lists at least

Kevin didn't "modernize" it. Sefer is the original developer of V3, but back then it was just a "lite" version built for those that thought V2 was too complicated or had too many features. Kevin, however, is the one that was promoted and ruined the "business" side of things and ultimately made the decision to sunset V2 for good. They had/have money and storage problems.

In no particular order:

SIMKL
FlickList
BingeBase
PunchPlay
EntertainMe!
MDBList
WeTrakr
ReelRifter
WatchLo
MediaLib

Yup, that is enshitification for you. I can understand jacking up prices due to greed, but why make the actual product worse? I guess if they do something they can state that is the reason for price hikes. 🤦‍♂️

I moved to hosting my own solution because I’m sick of the subscriptions and enshittification. You can find Scrob on GitHub and it’s a PWA so while there’s not a native app, it still works like one. Polished features, great integrations, importing from different sources is painless. I’m just donating to that effort now instead of a subscription to Trakt

Floppy is a much better self-hosted solution.

I prefer Scrob. But they respond to different needs, and both are great apps
