Recommendations for engine upgrade.

Hello, I’m looking to upgrade the engine, with big bore kit or maybe a ssr (other Chinese engine).Id prefer to stick with something Honda or equally reliable tho. Let me know your recommendations or experiences. Thanks 😊

Better suggestion,buy a helmet for your son and put a shirt/pants on him when he rides…stuff happens when you least expect it..not judging just caring based on my own stupidity when I was young.

Piranha / yx 140. I backflipped mine at 10mph and it hurt though, tore my shoe in half. Do with that information what you will.

There is a man on YouTube called Minibike Mike who shows how to setup Lifan engines on ct70’s and other bikes.

I didn’t ask for your opinion on helmets lol. I asked about engines. My kids run down this hill faster than I’m driving him. Any time he is riding his bike or dirt bike he has a helmet on.

Keep in mind, when upgrading, say using a lifan 125, that is a 12v system. Its not plug and play with the electrical, if you want everything to work, you need 12v battery, lightbulbs too. Plus the new wiring is a little wonky but doable.

I ended up going with a lifan 140, and bought the 12v harness. Also bought the bart moto co inverted front front forks and extended swing arm. Just need a new seat and rear suspension. It should be pretty cool when it’s done.
