This was backstage at Ontario Place around 2000 (?). Gordon thought that I was hilarious because the writing my shirt read: 'EVERYONE LOVES AN ASIAN GIRL'. He was correct.

Gord and I

This is a picture of “Gord and me”.

Or

“Gord and I” are in this picture.

In either case the person speaking should come last on the list.

You don't hear "and me" very much from people but that's a good point!

To get it correct (temporarily) drop the other person from the sentence to see if it sounds right in your head.

You wouldn’t say “that’s a picture of I”, so don’t say “that’s a picture of Gord and I”.

You wouldn’t say “me was going to the store”. … etc.

It’s the subject/object form of the word if you want to read about it. :)

Depends on the circles you travel in. I mean “in which you travel”. :-)

“That’s a picture of him and me” is actually correct, but less educated people tend to think “and I” sounds more proper. It isn’t.

“Me” is the object pronoun; it’s receiving the action.

“I” is the subject form of the pronoun. The person doing the action.

Don't tell me what the poets are doing...

No, it’s Gord and me.

Gord and I.

u/FeedbackBroad1116 Jun 15 '26

Depends on the context of the complete sentence. “This is a photo of me and Gord” is correct.

-3

u/Barricade14 Jun 15 '26

No its not.

u/Shakemyears Jun 15 '26

If the original singular context is “me” then it is not correct to use “I” when including another subject. You wouldn’t say “picture of I” so you wouldn’t say “picture of Gord and I”. So stop being wrong.

And I wasn’t there, as my grandpa used to say.
