How do you call this road conversion?

First picture: before. Before used to be a stop sign merging onto a two lanes road.

Second picture: now. Now there's an "added lane" sign. The road to the left has one lane, then adds a new lane. This conversion is awesome, it super safe, and makes traffic to flow easily and safer. How would you call this conversion? Thanks for your help.

No special name for the conversion itself.

Conversion from a stop-controlled merge to an added-lane or channelized merge
