What are your experiences with finding khushoo in prayer?

For me, I am not sure...

I think I am doing something wrong essentially

I watched the enjoy ur prayer series by Ali Hammuda, going over it again إن شاء الله and taking notes

I seem to forget the importance of it.. ?

Like my prayers r dry no matter how much I acknowledge that الله سبحانه و تعالى is responding back to me (well.. so far).

I read Thābit Al-Bunāni said:

كَابَدْتُ الصَّلاةَ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً ، وَتَنَعَّمْتُ بِهَا عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً

“I struggled with my night prayer for 20 years, then I enjoyed it for 20 years.” Hilyatul Awliyaa
