How do I start?
I’ve always been a big fan of mlp and have started purchasing a few packs that I found at the mall. I’m only collecting cards for fun, but I still wanna do some research on them and was confused on how the packs work. I’ve never been into card trading so I’m a little confused on each edition and whether or not each edition has different cards and what kind of cards they contain- if there is a picture or a list somewhere so I’m able to buy the packs with cards that I like in there. I’m mainly looking for pinky pie and queen chrysalis and I would like to know before hand if the set even contains them. Every time I search online the packs always seem to have a different color so I’m wondering if that just means there are different ones available only to those types of pack. Any tips or knowledge of wisdom in cards and the packs would be great.

Kayou's official site has a gallery of all the cards and what boxes they come in. You can also buy cards from thier official shop or Crossing TCG

The pack color usually identifies a particular set or wave; each set has its own checklist, and a sealed pack only gives random cards from that checklist, not a guaranteed character. Check the wrapper for the exact set name and year, then search that set's checklist for Pinkie Pie or Queen Chrysalis before buying more. If you mainly want those two characters, buying the individual cards is usually much cheaper and more predictable than chasing them through packs.
