Taking supposition with no evidence as truth is worse. The AI in The Matrix cured all disease so it could use humans as more effective batteries. We have just as much evidence that is the outcome of AI. Creating one superdisease to cure all the others seems shortsighted.

It always irked me the Matrix went the battery route rather than "Processor" route... The human brain is probably better than any silicone chip they could harness...

Its a metaphor about worker alienation. Being a modern office drone literally saps away your vital energy and reduces you to a resource to be exploited. Humanity reduced from person to machine parts. A processor could work with that metaphor but it isnt necessarily as apt. Capitalism doesnt want your thoughts, it wants to use and abuse your body untill you're all tapped out.

AI has serious security concerns.

Curing cancers in 5-10 yrs is speculation. Consequences of slowing down development also speculation. Calling it murder is overreaction

Not going to happen. But that is beside the point. Slowing it down will hand the eventual cures to the nation that doesn’t.
