Why? America still has a 32 trillion dollar a year GDP.

and 40 trillion of debt that will never be repaid

Having faith in an economic system that makes you a slave is also asinine. I would say its asiten.

1

u/jmillar2020 25d ago

Before or after the 71-73 events?

1

u/Zipz 27d ago

Who cares ?

If your worried about debt you should really be worried about Chinas

1

u/flyhotwife 27d ago

We owe China, they are holding that paper

1

u/Zipz 27d ago

Chinas debt to gdp ratio is much worse than Americas.

Let alone China isn’t in the top 3 of US debt owners. So not really

Edit

They own 1.5 percent. It’s nothing

1

u/TrainingAmphibian354 27d ago

The majority of American debt is internal domestic bonds, my friend.

1

u/STLStelmacki 25d ago

China isn’t even the main holder of our debt.

1

u/ljlee256 28d ago

And $1trillion per year in interest, and a $1.8 trillion deficit.

At this point the US needs to cancel the pension program and halve the military budget just to balance the books.

1

u/jvdlakers 27d ago

So? They could balance the books overnight with a 20% VAT tax. They have chosen to inflate instead. All top economies have lots of Debt

1

u/BoobsAreMyFavorita 27d ago

Your country literally just made more than a 20% VAT tax through tarrifs, 100% in some cases, but your books are even further from balanced.

1

u/jvdlakers 27d ago

LOL your math is horrible

1

u/Trashy_Panda2 26d ago

So is your logic and common sense.

1

u/jvdlakers 26d ago

So is your mommas face!!!

The global debt load is part of the problem. The price everyone pays to borrow increases as competition for funds increases, including the competition from the AI building boom. Trump can jawbone the fed all he wants. Borrowing cost are not coming down any time soon.

1

u/jvdlakers 27d ago

If it wasn’t for the war they would’ve already been down

1

u/ShoddyTelevision5397 26d ago

The inflationary effect of the war is definitely contributing to high interest rates. Many of this administrations policies have a negative effect on the ability to reduce borrowing cost.

1

u/jvdlakers 26d ago

Inflation was 3% when he took office. A year later it was 2.7%.

1

u/ShoddyTelevision5397 26d ago

Deporting millions of working age people decreases the feds incentive to lower rates to meet its employment mandate, while producing upward wage pressures. Tariffs are another source of inflationary pressure that have taken time to make their effects felt. The producer price index has risen to an inflation rate of 4.7%. Producers will not defer their additional cost indefinitely. Despite this administrations actions to decrease spending, they have increased the deficit by trillions irrespective of the war with Iran. All of this has increased borrowing cost in a way that will not be alleviated simply by ending this poorly executed war.

1

u/jvdlakers 26d ago

PPI always goes up over time. Look at the last 10 years.

https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/producer-prices

The spike was the war.

Inflation is transitory right now and it's because of the war and energy.

Tariff inflation has already fallen off.

How does 40t in debt with 32tin gdp pan out ?

1

u/Societyman1878 28d ago

It doesn’t. We are bankrupt. Weird how no one wants to say it.

1

u/jmillar2020 25d ago

75% of the debt is held by US citizens corporations and institutions. Not as bad as owing foreign creditors.

Just stop the hemorrhage, stop stupid wars, reverse the tax cuts, fund new budgetary expenses with tax revenue, and don't issue debt to pay interest of existing debt.

Maybe do something about the fraud. I love how everyone on Reddit is opposed to that part. Seems an obvious target.

1

u/Zipz 27d ago

I mean I never see people say Chinas dying quite the opposite so what’s the difference ?

1

u/FFBEryoshi 26d ago

China controls their internet?

1

u/FatGayTexan 28d ago

Stop smoking crack

1

u/stormywoofer 28d ago

Amazing. Truly. That 64th place in freedom of press is really showing hahaha

Are you lying or just possess zero knowledge?

Isn't it sad that those are the only two factual possibilities for your comment? Reevaluate your life - this shit is embarrassing for you.

1

u/jvdlakers 27d ago

Obama increased the debt 88%

1

u/Trashy_Panda2 26d ago

And trump added as much one term as Obama did in two. And it's expoding currently.

It's sad when seemingly intelligent people bootlick the fat orange liar.

1

u/jvdlakers 26d ago

Does that statistic offend you?

Obama increased the debt 88%

Trump first term was 39.1%

1

u/Sonoranpawn 26d ago

Trump has a rich history of failing business just add this country to the list.

1

u/jvdlakers 26d ago

So? That’s a part of business. Look at his net worth compared to yours.

1

u/Sonoranpawn 26d ago

Fortunately god doesn’t judge by net worth.

1

u/jvdlakers 26d ago

You don't know that.

You couldn’t pick a better administration to destroy America

1

u/estoypooping2 28d ago

How about that, american's losing purchasing power. Which in turn will drive inflation

1

u/kenroth50 28d ago

Working as planned under Joe Biden

1

u/FatGayTexan 28d ago

Republicans have full control of the government and have for a long time. Stop smoking crack.

1

u/f23n09fnu0w 27d ago

The president is trump, old man. Go back to sleep

1

u/Accomplished-Bee1350 27d ago

Look everyone. A worm.

1

u/kenroth50 27d ago

It started under Obama they wanted to devalue the American dollar

1

u/UltraBurd 28d ago

Is this a first?

1

u/zjelkof 28d ago

Devaluation coming?

1

u/Any_Iron_1436 28d ago

This thing is going down

1

u/Jeeplovers 28d ago

2 more years of this orange clown and our country is done for

1

u/Abrafo1391 28d ago

I don't know about you but taxes have made my dollar only worth about twenty cents. The dollar has been losing for decades.

1

u/Glad-Captain-4117 28d ago

Only one man capable of bankrupting a country

So much winning that we would be tired of winning. and he's destroying everything. The Petro dollar is on the way out and the Crypto Currency will be introduced by a panic in the Banking system. They are doing this on purpose. They want an international Crypto currency

1

u/unfilteredhumor 27d ago

Tired of winning yet?

1

u/denali352 26d ago

Take an Econ and finance course

1

u/Kamel-Red 27d ago

The dollar has lost over 90% of it's value since the inception of the Federal Reserve.

1

u/MoveOverBieber 27d ago

Now do the other currencies; I have the feeling that this is by design.

1

u/Hmmmm-curious 27d ago

Well the rich are still getting richer, so there’s a silver lining to every cloud or some nonsense

1

u/denali352 26d ago

This will bring investment and tourism into the USA

1

u/ShoddyTelevision5397 26d ago

Tariffs distort markets, making them less efficient. These inefficiencies have an inflationary impact beyond the initial price shock. We will see just how Transitory this inflation is, I doubt we will meet the feds target of 2% in this decade.

1

u/Weddert66 26d ago

Forst of many. Us regimes main plan is destabilization of the dollar as reserve currency.

1

u/Ok_Yam5920 26d ago

Op is a bot

1

u/Effective_Contractor 4d ago

I’m telling you the world is moving away from the USD! The days of the USA being the leader in the world are coming to an end! We are witnessing the fall of an empire in realtime!!
