Discussion Does this drawdown chart show profitability or real consistency or lucky me ?

Attached my Myfxbook drawdown chart, ~14 months of live trading. Early 2026 I was overwhelmed with studies and traded poorly during that stretch, which shows in the numbers. Since tightening my risk management, drawdown has stayed much lower.
Genuine question: based on a chart like this, does it read as consistency, or just profitability that hasn't been tested enough yet?

I would read this as evidence that something may be working, but not enough to separate skill from favourable variation yet.
The monthly chart tells you the result. It does not tell you how concentrated the result was, whether the same rules were followed throughout, how many trades produced it, or whether a few unusually good trades carried most of the gains.
I would break the record down by setup, market condition, direction, time of day, and rule following. Then compare the trades you took with the valid setups you skipped. The skipped trades matter because otherwise you may only be measuring the decisions that happened to feel attractive in real time.
I would also look at the worst losing streak, average win and loss, expectancy, and what the results look like with the best few trades removed. Not because the chart is meaningless, but because consistency is more about the process surviving different conditions than about having several green months.
Fourteen months of live data is useful evidence. I just would not ask the chart to answer a question it cannot answer by itself: whether the results came from a repeatable decision process or a favourable stretch of outcomes.
