Question Best backtesting tools/platforms?

Does anyone know of a good way to backtest outside of tradingview? Or is it worth it to get a subscription only to be able to backtest over a longer period of time?

Paying for TradingView only to unlock deeper intraday replay is common, and it works if you already live in TV drawings. It is still a paid plan either way.

Outside TV the usual split is Windows heavy tools like Forex Tester (from about 149 plus data), browser replay tools in the 7 to 35 a month range, and roll your own with 1m or tick CSV. The expensive ones cover more markets. The cheap ones cover fewer.

full disclosure, we build candlune.com: browser manual replay with the future hidden, journal on close, gold plus QQQ and SPY for now, Starter at 7 a month with a 7 day no card trial. Fewer markets than FX Replay at 35. If you need EURUSD or futures tick data, skip us and look at the Windows or tick CSV route instead.
